OKLAHOMA CITY (June 18, 2013) — Goodyear's Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems L.L.C. subsidiary has opened a Wingfoot truck tire service location in Oklahoma City, its second in Oklahoma and 173rd overall.
The new outlet—in a 9,600-sq.-ft. acquired building—is located west of downtown Oklahoma City and just south of Interstate 40. It's also just a few miles east of an existing Wingfoot Commercial Tire outlet on the north side of I-40.
The location offers an array of truck tire repair and other tire-related services, wheel refurbishing, 24/7 roadside assistance along with Goodyear-, Dunlop- and Kelly-brand medium truck tires and Goodyear-authorized retreads, the Akron-based tire maker said. The location is staffed with six employees.
The opening of the outlet comes just a few weeks after longtime Goodyear truck tire dealer T&W Tire Inc. of Oklahoma City switched its primary tire brands and retreading system to Michelin Truck Tires.
Wingfoot President Paul Wanstreet called the new site a "strategically located" facility that will allow Wingfoot to service key customers in the Oklahoma City market and extend service throughout Oklahoma and northern Texas.
