AKRON (June 17, 2013 — Goodyear has been ranked as one of the top workplaces in northeast Ohio by WorkplaceDynamics, an employee survey company.
WorkplaceDynamics' top 100 list features a mix of the best large, mid-sized and small companies, with Goodyear ranking on the Top 25 list of large companies, according to the Akron-based tire maker.
Goodyear said its ranking is based on results from a survey completed by 500 of its Akron-area employees in late 2012—before the company moved into its new global headquarters building.
"Having top talent and top teams is critical to Goodyear's achievement of our corporate objectives," said Joseph B. Ruocco, senior vice president, Global Human Resources, in a press release. "These survey results will help us further improve our efforts to attract, develop, motivate and retain the best team of associates in the industry."
Questions posed to workers have been "tried and tested among millions of survey-takers since 2006," according to WorkplaceDynamics. Survey results are benchmarked against more than 5,000 participating organizations with nearly 2 million employees who take the survey each year.
WorkplaceDynamics recognizes companies with the highest levels of organizational health, defined as strong execution, direction and connection with employees, Goodyear said. The company partners with more than 30 leading publishers across the U.S. to produce regional top workplaces lists. The northeast Ohio list was published by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
