Hello, I'm Alaina Scott, and you're watching Tire Business NewsPoint, your video source for exclusive tire industry news.
Tire Business Senior Reporter William Schertz recently attended a Goodyear ride-and-drive event at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix, where the tire maker showcased its new Eagle Sport All-Season high performance tire.
The tire, which Goodyear announced during its annual dealer meeting in January, is available this month at Goodyear retail outlets, with a full lineup of 47 sizes coming by the end of the year. According to Goodyear Brand Manager Tara Foote, the tire is positioned below Goodyear's new Eagle F1 Asymmetrical All-Season tire and will feature a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty.
During the event, attendees were given the opportunity to drive Audi A4s fitted with the Eagle Sport alongside one of its main competitors, the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval. Stacy Steffan, Goodyear program manager for U.S. AutoForce, shared his thoughts on how the new Eagle performed against the Firehawk, as well as how it compares with its predecessor, the Eagle GT.
