Crain News Service report
OFFENBACH AM MAIN, Germany (May 30, 2013) — Falken Tire Corp. is offering its first all-season tire tailored specifically to the "complex requirements" of the European market.
The Euroall Season AS200 tire features four wide and deep longitudinal grooves to disperse high volumes of water, Falken said, while offset lateral grooves direct water away from the tire.
The company claims the new tire has improved traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads without compromising comfort, and has reduced tire rolling noise and shorter braking distances.
The tire's rubber compound contains extra silica and a high proportion of styrene groups to improve wet handling, Falken said. An anti-ageing agent permeates continuously from the lower reservoir tread to the outer tread, according to the company, noting this feature protects the running surface from aging and aggressive environmental influences throughout the tire's life.
The AS200 will be available at specialist tire dealers beginning in July in a range of 27 dimensions, Falken said.
