I'm looking to purchase a new a/c machine for my shop. Which one is the best?
"It all depends upon the volume of air conditioning jobs your shop performs and—most of all—your wallet. Choosing a machine from a tool truck or parts store is not a good start. Go online and see what's available: operation, options, capacity and cost. For example, southern climate shops most likely use their a/c units 12 months out of the year. That shop owner is going to look for a heavy-duty, high-capacity unit with a great warranty. A basic model may be a better fit for northern climate facilities."
How often should I update my scan tool?
"Make and model will dictate when updates should be performed. As for how often, always keep your scanner up to date. Just like keeping up with your ASE testing and automotive update classes, it is very important to be current with your equipment. Not to do so would be a disservice to your customers."
