WESTLAKE, Ohio (May 7, 2013) — TravelCenters of America L.L.C. (TA), operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center brands, has acquired and rebranded its only travel center in Rhode Island.
The Westlake-based company opened its newest travel center May 4 in West Greenwich, at I-94, Exit 5B (849 Victory Highway). Its amenities include:
• 200 truck parking spaces on a spacious, well-lit parking lot;
• Six diesel lanes;
• Travel store;
• 5 showers;
• Full-service restaurant;
• Round-the-clock emergency roadside service; and
• UltraONE Rewards Program kiosk and swiping system.
This location also offers a variety of other full-service professional driver amenities, including Wi-Fi, weigh scale, and ATM, check cashing and TripPak services.
"We are very pleased to have acquired this location," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters, which did not specify from whom the center was acquired. "We plan to add a number of new amenities to this location." He noted that the company will "perform extensive renovations to the TA Truck Service facility."
The opening of the Rhode Island location raises to 246 the number of travel centers in the TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded chain, which operates in 42 states.
