SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (April 26, 2013) — Schrader International Inc. will cut the ribbon May 1 on a $10 million expansion of capacity for tire pressure monitoring systems components at its plant in Springfield.
The newly installed manufacturing line reflects growing demand for complete systems from domestic vehicle makers, Schrader said, as well as an increased service and repair demand for replacement sensors in the automotive aftermarket.
The investment has increased the Springfield facility's production capability by 8 million units, with an additional line expected to be installed in early 2014, Schrader said in an earlier release on the investment.
The expansion created 76 manufacturing jobs this year and will add about 100 more next year, according to the company.
Schrader is expecting a number of dignitaries at the ribbon-cutting, including: Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander from Tennesse; Rep. Diane Black, R-6th District; Allen Borden, assistant commissioner, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development; or representatives from their offices.
Schrader President and CEO Hugh Charvat and members of the company's management team will host the event.
Schrader states it is the only U.S.-based manufacturer of complete TPMS systems for the automotive industry.
