AKRON (April 24, 2013) — BKT-Tires (USA) Inc. has added updated versions of its Agrimax RT855 and Agrimax RT765 '70 and '85 series radial drive tires that offer improved cut and chip resistance thanks to a new compound that incorporates a more reinforcing carbon black type.
BKT-Tires claims the new versions, which also are produced with a more effective vulcanizing system, offer a 30-percent improvement in cut and chip resistance vs. the previous compound, as well as overall wear improvements of about 25 percent.
The company's field engineering department conducted several market surveys conducted where BKT Radial '70 and '85 series products are sold and used in severe service conditions, according to BKT.
The newly developed compound was released for production on Jan. 1.
BKT Tires (USA) is the U.S. marketing arm of India's Balkrishna Industries Ltd.
