TWI: 'Ambitious growth plans' with King at helm

CORONA, Calif. (April 18, 2013) — With former longtime Yokohama Tire Corp. executive Dan King joining Tire's Warehouse Inc. (TWI) as president, the company said it has "ambitious" plans for growth.

TWI said the hiring of Mr. King, who started at the Corona-based company April 8, not only enhances its corporate management team, but "will support TWI's next leg of growth and expansion."

Eric Helmle, chairman of TWI's board, said the company is "very fortunate to have someone of Dan's caliber." Larry Helmle, CEO and co-owner of the company with his brother Eric, added: "With Dan on the team, we are prepared to achieve significant new growth."

"TWI has an ambitious strategy for growth and expansion, which will result in TWI furthering its position as the preeminent Western States wholesale tire distributor," Mr. King said in a TWI press release. "This strategy will provide a growth avenue for TWI's existing manufacturing partners, as well as a viable option for additional business partnerships."

During his 25-year tenure at Yokohama, Mr. King held many titles including director of marketing; director of sales; vice president of sales; and most recently, senior vice president of sales and marketing. He holds an MBA degree from the University of Southern California.

TWI's brands portfolio includes Bridgestone, Continental, Falken, Firestone, General, Hankook, Kumho, Nexen, Sumitomo and Yokohama, as well as TWI house labels Accelera, Delinte, Doral, Gladiator, Landsail and Rotalla.
