Honda
Some 2006-07 Pilot SUV models may emit a rubbing sound from the front of the vehicle while being driven. One likely cause of the noise, Honda said, is the inner fender well making contact with the tire. Replacing the inner fender with an updated design (part No. 74101-S9V-A10, H/C 8086050, right-side; part No. 74151-S9V-A10, H/C 8086142, left-side) should eliminate the condition.
Be aware that the new inner fender should come with a drilled hole and spring nut positioned about 6 ½ inches up from the bottom edge. If it doesn't, measure 6 ½ inches from the bottom, then drill a .195-inch hole into the fender about .120 inches from the edge, as shown in the illustration above. Now shave the lip off the edge of the inner fender and install a spring nut, part No. 90331-SD5-003, H/C 2800548.
Continue the job by temporarily installing the new inner fender to the vehicle. Referencing the illustration, mark the center of the hole on the lip of the bumper about .300 inches from the inside edge, then drill a .195-inch hole into the lip at the same height as the hole in the inner fender. To complete the repair, clean the shavings from the holes in the inner fender and bumper, install the inner fender and secure it to bumper with a self-tapping screw through the spring nut.
Mazda
Some 2004-09 Mazda models may produce a clunk, bang or jolting sensation from the front of the vehicle on initial movement following a prolonged period of inactivity. According to Mazda, the problems usually surface at about 6 mph, and are nothing more than the ABS, TCS and DSC systems performing an initialization test prior to vehicle operation. Make a note for future reference.
Vehicles that are subject to the issues are 2004-09 RX-8s; 2006-08 Miata MX-5s, 2007-08 MAZDASPEED3s; and 2007-09 CX-7s, CX-9s and MAZDA3s.
General Motors
Owners of 2005-06 Pontiac GTO models may complain that the hazard flasher in the car can't be turned off once activated. According to GM, the problem is usually intermittent and the result of a defect in the body control module's (BCM) internal relay. Updated BCMs are now available to eliminate the condition. Order part No. 92176590 for 2005 models and part No. 92179694 for 2006 vehicles.
