ALMETYEVSK, Russia (April 5, 2013) — Russian tire maker Nizhnekamskshina has delivered its 1 millionth Kama Euro tire to the Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, Russia.
VW Polos produced in Kaluga are equipped with Kama Euro 129 and 236 tire models in 175/70 R14, 185/60 R15 and 195/55 R15 sizes, Nizhnekamskshina said.
The tire maker said the Kama Euro 129 is described as a "modern road passenger tire" with an asymmetric tread pattern designed for summer conditions. It uses silica in its compounds to improve wet grip characteristics and extend tire life.
The all-season Kama Euro 236 features a summer tread pattern with four longitudinal grooves in the central part of the tread and the pattern spreading onto the sidewall—used to reduce aquaplaning risk. Tread block locations are precisely calculated to reduce noise generation, according to the tire maker.
Nizhnekamskshina is a subsidiary of the Russian oil company Tatneft.
