CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 5, 2013) — Specialty wheel and tire marketer Coker Group has appointed Marla Moore its new director of marketing, effective immediately.

Ms. Moore will oversee all marketing communication efforts for the company's brands involved in the collector car industry, Coker said, and reports directly to group Executive Vice President Wade Kawasaki on matters concerning advertising, public relations and sponsorships within the lifestyle and automotive enthusiast spheres.

Prior to joining the Coker Group, she served as the advertising director at Hypertech, a Bartlett, Tenn.-based company specializing in high-performance engine tuning for modern computer-controlled vehicles.

For more than 30 years Ms. Moore has been actively involved in the automotive aftermarket industry, using her expertise within the advertising and marketing segments to help advocate on behalf of the industry, according to Coker.

She also has worked with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in several capacities. In 2012, Ms. Moore was named SEMA's "Person of the Year." She also chairs the SEMA Businesswomen's Network (SBN) and led the SEMA Mustang Build Powered by Women—which unveiled the vehicle at last year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas. She also has held seats on the select committees of the SBN and SEMA's Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) and also chaired the Media Trade Conference. In addition, Ms. Moore serves on the SEMA Cares Committee and the Legislative Committee as well as a number of other organizations outside of SEMA.

"We're incredibly delighted to have someone of Marla's caliber join the Coker family," said group President Corky Coker. "She lives and breathes the automotive aftermarket and brings a unique perspective on marketing strategy that reflects her experience within the industry."

Ms. Moore's new role at Coker has her as the marketing head for more than 10 brands under the group's umbrella, including Coker Tire Co., Honest Charley Speed Shop, The Great Race, Coker Cycle Co., Phoenix Race Tires, M and H Racemaster, Pro-Trac Tire Co., Specialty Wheel, Roadster Wire Wheels and Wheel Vintiques,

Saying she is "excited to work with Corky Coker and the Coker Tire Co.," Ms. Moore called them "leaders in the world of car collecting; I'm proud to be a part of such a large, widely respected organization with great vision for our future and so many opportunities to impact different automotive markets."
