TOKYO (April 2, 2013) — Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has established a sales subsidiary in Mexico and named Gary Nash, previously vice president of Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC), president of the new subsidiary.
The new company, Yokohama Tire Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V., is based in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico, and is scheduled to begin full-fledged operations in May. Previously Yokohama sold consumer, commercial and OTR tires to Mexico through YTC.
Yokohama said it expects the new company will help it expand its market presence in Mexico by providing direct sales, customer service and efficient distribution channels.
Mr. Nash's appointment was effective March 1. YTC has not named a successor for Mr. Nash, who oversaw the company's OTR tire business.
