Bridgestone names VP of commercial div.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas has hired commercial vehicle industry veteran Matthew Stevenson to be vice president of marketing, commercial tire division, succeeding Scott Damon, who took another role within the company.

Mr. Stevenson comes to Bridgestone from drivetrain components manufacturer Meritor Inc., where he was general manager, North American field operations and marketing, overseeing field sales, service, training, fleet and dealer relationships and product marketing for the truck, trailer and specialty business units.

Prior to joining Meritor in 2010, Mr. Stevenson spent 10 years at Daimler Trucks North America in sales and marketing positions as well as being chief operations officer for Daimler's Mitsubishi Fuso division.

Philip Dobbs, chief marketing officer for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations-North America, said Mr. Stevenson will help the tire maker “elevate awareness of the needs of our customers, and help us in meeting those needs.”

Mr. Damon, an 18-year company veteran, had been vice president of marketing since March 2010. Bridgestone did not say what his new role is.
