FORT MILL, S.C. (March 6, 2013) — Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C.'s General Tire brand is launching a "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" sweepstakes, in partnership with Paramount Pictures, to coincide with the movie's release on March 29.
The film stars Channing Tatum along with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson.
The tire maker said it is giving G.I. Joe fans a chance to win the ultimate G.I. Joe-themed experience, "because with General Tire…'Anywhere is Possible.'" A spokeswoman said the company does not have a tire placement in the movie, adding: "We are partnering together for the sweepstakes and a promotion," which Conti will announce soon.
The sweepstakes grand prize winner will receive a prize package that includes a trip for two to Los Angeles, a three-night stay at the Andaz West Hollywood Hotel and a VIP tour of Paramount Pictures Studios, General Tire said. The grand prize winner also will get to choose two of the following G.I. Joe-themed activities:
- Bungee jump off the Bridge to Nowhere in the San Gabriel Mountains in California;
- Fighter pilot simulator experience;
- Powered paragliding experience;
- Guided Segway tour of Santa Monica and Venice Beach, Calif.;
- Hollywood Strip helicopter tour; or
- Paintball battle at an outdoor paintball park set in 23-acres.
General Tire said the grand prize package is valued at $5,000. In addition, three first prize winners will each receive a set of General-brand tires, and two second prize winners will each receive an iPad Mini 32GB.
The sweepstakes began Feb. 25 and runs through March 29.
