AKRON (March 1, 2013) — Goodyear has unveiled the Goodyear KnowHow App, a B2B application that offers product information targeted toward tire retailers for tire selection and sales processes.
"It's a complete selling tool that puts evergreen information at the retailer's fingertips, giving them an advantage by quickly and accurately presenting the needed product information for their own use or to prospective tire buyers," said Quinnie Lane, co-marketing planner for Goodyear.
Features of the KnowHow App include:
- product information, including tire images, sizes and specifications and information and benefits for Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly brands;
- specific vehicle fitment information, allowing the selection of tires based on the make, model and year of the vehicle; and
- "Search for Tire Size," a capability that is similar to the tire selector on Goodyear's website.
Goodyear said the app has a wide range of features and is now available for download on iPads and iPhones, with Android phone and tablet versions to be released in the near future. The app can be downloaded from the Apple store. To download, the retailer will be asked for their customer number, allowing the retailer to get customized content in the future.
Goodyear said its North American Tire (NAT) consumer team has introduced, or will introduce, various tools to help Goodyear customers run their businesses and sell tires. These tools include the Digital Dealer Toolkit, Tire Selector for Retail Tire Wall, a digital menu board, Goodyear dealer locator, monthly newsletters and new product promotion decks.
"The KnowHow App, the digital menu board and the new Tire Wall/Tire Selector in stores are all part of how NAT consumer is influencing, communicating and positioning the leading-edge innovation of Goodyear's products and services," said Sue McEvoy, retail marketing manager.
The Akron-based tire manufacturer said once the app also features other content, such as current product videos, an entire library of product sell-sheets and the ability to print or email them directly from the device. The KnowHow App will continue to add features and functions based on retailer feedback.
