AKRON — I've always thought the best way to learn was through example. Maybe not always—but for a long time.
At least since I was little and my dad taught me how to change my own tire. He changed it, explained the steps, and by doing that he made me understand. When it was my turn, I could envision what he had done and was ready to give it a try.
I need to start with that example first because, as I've looked back, I believe it's one of the best ways to teach someone. Peers, co workers and friends can make the best teachers. Having an expert talk at you in what sounds like a different language rarely works—at least not for me.
That's why Tire Business wants to help show you the tools you need to make a better impression on your customers on social media
One of our goals for 2013 is to step up our social media presence and help our readers recognize Tire Business as a source for tips, information and techniques for their own social media needs.
This week we will begin to move closer to accomplishing that goal as we begin a new initiative. On Facebook and Twitter each week, we'll highlight the week's best, most amazing, most genius, most creative and most fun posts from the tire industry.
We'll put your brilliant ideas on a pedestal, otherwise known as our Facebook timeline.
We want to use the best examples we know to show followers what's working. And those examples come from you.
Once a week on Friday we will point out and highlight a post we've seen on Facebook and share it on Tire Business' Facebook page so you can see examples of a strong social media presence. And sometimes it's easier to show than to tell, so we'll show you what other businesses in the industry do to attract customers, showcase products, make announcements and more.
If you know of or own a company that has a great Facebook or Twitter posts or that uses coupons or contests in a creative way, let us know, and that company might be our featured Friday post. Or if your own company's posts should be highlighted, let us know!
