DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2013) — The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is giving exhibitors an opportunity designed to help them improve performance at the SEMA Show this fall.
SEMA's Exhibitor Summit will take place in Las Vegas April 15-17—seven months prior to the actual SEMA Show. The Diamond Bar-based trade group said the summit is "the ideal place for new and established exhibitors to learn how to maximize the return on their investment."
"The summit is the best place for our team to connect with exhibitors and explain the many programs and services available to them," said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of events and communications. "During the summit, there are no distractions or interruptions. We're able to spend quality time and give exhibitors a really clear understanding of the different resources that are available to them."
Mr. MacGillivray noted that a key aspect of the summit is that workshops and individual meetings are conducted by SEMA staff and show organizers. "It's important to us that exhibitors know who to contact, and that their contact is someone who knows and understands our show," he continued. "Since the Exhibitor Summit takes place seven months before the actual event, we're able to build on the relationships as they execute their plans for the show. We want to build on the momentum from the summit and work with them along the way."
Topics addressed during the summit include cost-effective ways to set up a booth, resources available to target buyers and value-added programs, according to SEMA. Exhibitors may participate in one-on-one sessions where show experts evaluate and analyze the exhibitor's unique needs to help reduce expenses, and they also will be able to tour the Las Vegas convention center.
The association and its hotel partners are offering a limited number of hotel rooms for the summit at no cost to participants. All meals at the summit are included as well; participants are responsible for travel to and from Las Vegas and incidental hotel charges, SEMA said.

The 2013 SEMA Show will be held in Las Vegas Nov. 5-8.
