Trelleborg promoting sustainable farming at Paris ag show

FAIRLAWN, Ohio (Feb. 25, 2013) — Trelleborg Wheel Systems is scheduled to present its portfolio of tires and solutions at SIMA 2013, an agricultural show being held Feb. 24-28 in Paris.

Trelleborg said it will be located in Hall 6, Booth B111 at SIMA 2013 and will speak to farmers and contractors about best-in-class solutions that decrease the use of natural resources and the overall environmental footprint, while boosting efficiency and farming productivity.

Trelleborg said "sustainable farming" is in line with its commitment to offering solutions that not only provide added value for the customer, but for the environment as well.

A LED waterfall will be featured in Trelleborg's presentation, which will create water-made images to promote the company's environmentally friendly approach and also entertain visitors with a visual experience, Trelleborg said.

Also included will be some new products, including the company's IF 900/60R42 TM1000 High Power and IF 800/70R32 CFO TM3000, two new lines designed according to the company's innovative BlueTire Technology.

"TM3000 is Trelleborg's answer to the latest generation of harvesters and combine machines," said Paolo Pompei, business unit president agricultural & forestry tires, Trelleborg Wheel Systems.

Mr. Pompei said the company plans to phase in three more TM300 sizes—the IF 800/65R32 CFO, the IF 800/70R38 CFO and the IF 1050/50R32 CFO—by year-end.

"Matching sustainable and precision farming approaches," he continued, "TM3000 is the right choice for professionals looking to increase the productivity of their farming operations, lowering their overall operating cost while looking after the safety of their operators."

Mr. Pompei added that Trelleborg has extended the TM1000 High Power line, which is the next generation of IF tires that are capable of carrying more load at a lower pressure. This makes a total of seven sizes, between 30 and 42 inches, including IF 900/60R42; IF 710/75R42; IF 710/70R42; IF 650/65R34; IF 650/60R34; IF 600/70R30; and IF 710/60R34.

Trelleborg said the TM1000 High Power, co-designed with leading tractor manufacturers, is able to transfer to the ground the entire engine power, along with the torque driven by the latest breed of transmissions. With the product line having been extremely well received so far, Trelleborg said it is continuing to work with its partners to further increase the range.

Trelleborg's 710/75R42 TM900 High Power, 650/65R42 TM800, 620/70R42 TM700, 380/90R50 TM100 for row crop applications, 750/60R30.5 TWIN RADIAL and 460/70R24 TH400 from the new agro-industrial range, also will be featured at its SIMA booth.

A Trelleborg spokesman said the TM1000 is already available in North America in some of the sizes "and we have sold quite a few since January." The company began production of the TM3000 800/70R32 two weeks ago, he said, adding: "We expect to receive the product in our warehouse in North America by the end of March."
