DURAND, Wis. (Feb. 6, 2013) — Bauer Built Inc. has made a series of executive appointments as part of corporate reorganization tied to the dealership's growth and some key retirements.
The Durand-based dealership promoted Mike Weber and Jim Mitchell to director of manufacturing and vice president of sales, Northwest Region, respectively, and hired Paul Johnson to be vice president of marketing.
Previously Bauer Built promoted Tad Bauer to president, taking over some of the responsibilities held by his father, Jerry Bauer, chairman and CEO.
Mr. Weber, formerly the store manager for the company's tire center in Waukesha, Wis., was promoted last June to director of manufacturing, where he oversees Bauer Built's seven retread shops and three wheel refinishing locations. Those operations previously were under the direction of Jim Fenn, a 31-year employee at Bauer Built who retired Dec. 31 as executive vice president of business development.
Mr. Weber relocated to the retread administration office in Durand.
Mr. Johnson, an executive from outside the tire industry with experience in manufacturing and distribution, was hired to succeed Larry Hildebrandt as vice president of marketing. Mr. Hildebrandt, a 27-year Bauer Built employee, retired Feb. 1.
In order to support its growth and expansion plans, Bauer Built said it increased its regions to four from three, creating the vice president's position that Mr. Mitchell is filling. He previously was store manager in St. Paul, Minn. In his new position, he will oversee tire centers in St. Paul and Blaine, Minn., and Fargo, N.D.
