NACE, CARS announce event chairs

DALLAS (Jan. 23, 2013) — Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) has named Dan Stander, owner of Littleton, Colo.-based Fix Auto Highlands Ranch, chairman for the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE), and said that Bill Moss, owner of Warrenton, Va.-based EuroService Automotive, will return for a second term as chairman for the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS).

Each chairman will represent his segment of the industry and ASRW. Messrs. Stander and Moss are both accredited automotive managers.

The 2013 event is scheduled for Oct. 17-19 (with an education conference beginning Oct. 16) at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, the ASRW said.

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) sponsors the ASRW, NACE and CARS events.

Mr. Stander succeeded Ron Nagy, who concluded a two-year term as NACE chairman from 2011-2012, the ASRW said. Mr. Stander is a second-generation collision shop owner with 30 years of experience and is a graduate of the University of Colorado. He also is active in the ASA-Colorado affiliate, is the president of ASA Colorado's Collision Division and is on the state organization's Board of Directors, along with involvement with various other committees.

Mr. Moss began his career at a full-service neighborhood gas station in 1973, the ASRW said, and has been involved in the trade as a technician, shop manager, route salesman, compressed natural gas and propane retro fitter, 24/7 service station manager and an automotive sales and service business partner. He served on the ASA national mechanical division operations committee from 2002-2008, and has led the operations committee since 2010 serving as mechanical division director on the ASA board of directors.
