SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2013) — The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is offering four free half-day workshops throughout California in January and February.
Titled "Green Roads Workshop: Using recycled waste tires as RAC and TDA," the workshops will explore best practices for the use of rubberized asphalt concrete and provide an introduction to the use of tire-derived aggregate in civil engineering projects. Speakers also will give information on CalRecycle incentives for use of the materials.
Scheduled presenters include Nate Gauff and Stacey Patenaude, CalRecycle materials recycling engineers; Theron Roschen, program manager with Quincy Engineering; Margot Yapp, principal engineer with Nichols Engineering; and TDA specialist Joaquin Wright.
The workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22 in Redding; Thursday, Jan. 24 in Santa Rosa; Tuesday, Jan. 29 in Santa Maria; and Monday, Feb. 4 in San Diego.
All workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In addition to the above-listed presenters, Diingxin Chen, Ph.D., will appear at the Redding workshop, and professional geologist Chris Doolittle will speak at the Santa Maria workshop.
