LAS VEGAS (Nov. 5, 2012) — Tire industry software solutions provider ASA Automotive Systems L.L.C. is taking a new direction in software development that will include a complete rewrite of its TireMaster family of products to Web-based applications.
Using JAVA-based technology, ASA will integrate all its TireMaster products for use with mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones, the company said during a press conference at the 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas.
So far, the rewrite of ASA's scheduler tool, mobile warehouse order entry system and general ledger modules has been completed and can be used by dealers immediately. Each features new functionality to improve the user experience, ASA President Ken Halle said during the press conference.
The Merrimack, N.H.-based company's scheduler tool, featuring color-coding and drag-and-drop capabilities, allows dealers to book appointments from a work order or the tool's calendar and view appointments by date, location, bay and technician. The second phase of the tool will allow customers to book appointments online directly, ASA said.
The general ledger, ASA's first accounting tool to be rewritten for full integration with TireMaster, now features enhanced drill-down and reporting capabilities, Mr. Halle said.
In addition, a new mobile point-of-sale app is expected to be available by June. The POS solution will feature an integrated accounting system and will be scalable to any size business, Mr. Halle said.
