New president for MeinekeBy Tire Business Staff
CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Meineke Car Care Centers Inc. has appointed franchising veteran Paul Clayton president, effective Oct. 15.
“Paul has a track record of successfully implementing sales and brand-building strategies that resulted in significant increases in market share and we are very excited to have Paul's expertise, passion for franchising and vision for growth leading the Meineke brand,” said Jonathan Fitzpatrick, president/CEO of Driven Brands Inc., Meineke's parent firm.
Mr. Clayton has more than 28 years of franchising experience, including eight as the CEO of Jamba Juice, which Meineke said he led to dominate the made-to-order and healthy snack market in 2008 with 19 percent market share—triple that of the company's closest competitor. He also spent 16 years with Burger King, including as president of North America.
Charlotte-based Meineke, founded in 1972, is a provider of franchised automotive repair and maintenance service.
Meanwhile, in July Charlotte-based Driven Brands named Jon-athan Fitzpatrick president and CEO succeeding Kenneth D. Walker. Mr. Fitzpatrick had more than 15 years' experience in franchising and global operations, most recently serving as executive vice president, chief brand and operations officer for Burger King since 2005.
