CLEVELAND—The Ohio Tire & Automotive Association (OTAA) honored former Executive Director William Floyd and Terry and Will Tolerton of Terry's Tire Town with its newly established Distinguished Service Award recognizing an individual or company as a major contributor to the tire industry and to the association.

The presentation took place during the association's 45th annual meeting held in Cleveland, Sept. 19, in conjunction with the International Tire Exhibition & Conference.

In presenting the award to Mr. Floyd, the OTAA also renamed it in his honor. Mr. Floyd served as executive director of the Ohio Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association, the predecessor organization of the OTAA, for 30 years, from 1967 to 1997.

The OTAA then presented the William Floyd Distinguished Service Award to the Tolertons. Terry Tolerton founded Terry's Tire Town in 1972 as a single location retail store in Alliance, Ohio.

Terry and his son Will, the company's CEO, have built the tire dealership into one of the largest tire distributorships in the Northeastern U.S.
