CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Meineke Car Care Centers has named Paul Clayton, a franchising industry veteran of more than 28 years, to be its president.
"Paul has a track record of successfully implementing sales and brand-building strategies that resulted in significant increases in market share and we are very excited to have Paul's expertise, passion for franchising and vision for growth leading the Meineke brand," said Jonathan Fitzpatrick, president and CEO of Driven Brands, Inc., the parent of Meineke Car Care Centers.
Mr. Clayton was CEO of Jamba Juice from 2000-2008, building that franchise business to the market leader in the made-to-order and healthy snack market, Driven Brands said. Since then he has been involved with Palm Foods and Brands 4Good, according to his LinkedIn page.
Mr. Clayton also spent 16 years with Burger King, including time as president of North America, senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, vice-president of U.S. marketing and vice-president of Northeast region.
Speaking on his position with Meineke, Mr. Clayton stated, "Meineke is a well-known brand and I am excited to be a part of it. I look forward to working with all the franchisees and the Meineke team in an effort to make Meineke the best automotive aftermarket brand and business in the world."
Charlotte-based Meineke Car Care Centers, founded in 1972, is a provider of franchised automotive repair and maintenance service, with 952 locations internationally.
Mr. Fitzpatrick also is a recent hire at Driven Brands, coming aboard in July to succeed Kenneth Walker. He brings more than 15 years experience in franchising and global operations to the position, including work at chief brand and operations officer of Burger King for seven years.
Charlotte-based Driven Brands also is parent of Maaco, Econo Lube & Tune and a franchised network of mobile services consisting of AutoQual, Aero-Colours & Drive N Style and Tortal.net.
