BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has announced dates for the Jacksonville, Fla., Houston and Memphis, Tenn., stops on its 28-city tour for the 2012 Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Instructor Training Tour.
The first stop will be Oct. 16-19 at San Jacinto College-Central in Pasadena, Texas. This will be followed by seminars Nov. 13-16 at Florida State College Jacksonville, and Dec. 11-14 at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis.
The Certified ATS Instructor Program is a four-day, in-depth classroom and hands-on seminar that industry professionals must successfully complete to be certified to return to their dealerships and in turn train technicians for ATS certification, TIA said.
Certified ATS training includes safety guidelines and step-by-step procedures on all aspects of passenger and light truck tire service, including wheel installation and repair. It includes a full day of instruction on handling and servicing tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), TIA said.
