Pathway Polymers Inc. recently signed an agreement with NeuMaq in Chile to provide its TyrFil polyurethane tire fill/flatproofing product to El Teniente, the world's largest underground copper mining facility.
The El Teniente mine is operated by Codelco, a state-owned copper mining company, along with Soletanche-Bachy, a geotechnical and civil engineering contractor, according to Pathway Polymers.
Johan Gacitua of NeuMaq said Pathway played a key role in the contract being awarded, adding: “We are very excited about new opportunities ahead, and we expect to grow our tire fill business with Pathway Polymers.”
“Pathway Polymers continues to expand its global footprint,” said Mike Arnold, Pathway's executive vice president of sales and marketing. “We're proud to be involved with such an important project.”
The company also recently signed an agreement with Dismacor S. A., a major tire distributor in Bogotá, Colombia, to provide tire fill solutions to the Colombian Ministry of Defense.
Pathway, a subsidiary of the Vita Group, supplies flatproofing solutions to the mining, construction, rental and OEM industries in the U.S. and international markets.
The company said it plans to exhibit at MINExpo International at the Las Vegas Convention Center Sept. 24-26.
