DINUBA, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2012) — Auto parts retailer and wholesaler Smith Auto Parts of Dinuba has selected MAM Software Inc.,'s Autopart program to manage its multi-warehouse, multi-store auto parts business in central California.
"Our current system has served us well over the years,” said Smith Auto President Jon Cochran. “We recognize that in recent years we have had to do more and more ‘work arounds' to keep up with the changes in our business.
"We decided it was time to embrace new technology and provide our company the tools it needs to grow and prosper," he said. "After a detailed evaluation of the leading solutions, we chose Autopart."
Founded in 1933 in Dinuba by a then-18-year-old Elmer Smith, the parts wholesaler and retailer serves customers throughout central California through six locations in the south San Joaquin Valley. Since being sold to Ron Cochran in 1982, Smith Auto has expanded to include two warehouse locations and four additional store locations, according to Autopart.
Autopart will replace the company's current business system to manage the company's inventory, handle sales, cash management, accounting, purchasing and reporting, MAM said.
“Smith Auto has an exceptional team with a clear vision of how they want their business to run,” said MAM President Brian Allibon. “It is another successful alliance member that has decided to partner with us and we look forward to working with them to help them improve their operation while continuing to improve our software solution as well.”
MAM, a subsidiary of MAM Software Group Inc., provides software and service solutions to warehouse distributors, jobbers and retailers in the U.S. automotive aftermarket.
