RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2012) — Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. is voluntarily recalling 1,238 Kumho Solus KH25 tires, size 225/45R17, because of sidewall cracking problems.
Kumho said only 122 of the tires — produced during August 2011 through June 2012 at the Vietnam Kumho Tire Co. Ltd. plant (DOT code, K2) in Ben Cat, Binh Duong, Vietnam — were sold to consumers. The rest are still in Kumho's control in warehouses, the company said.
Kumho said cracking in the sidewalls of two of the suspect tires during additional product testing was discovered. To date, there have been no reports of any warranty claim, accident, injury or death regarding the tire recalled related to its reported condition.
Kumho said it is contacting each of the consumers who bought the tires to inform them on how to get their tires replaced
