NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 26, 2012) — Bridgestone Americas has promoted three executives in its information technology (IT) and finance sectors.
Bridgestone promoted long-time company executives Tim Walsh, Alan Lindsey and Bill Thompson.
Mr. Walsh, who previously served as the company's corporate controller, has been named chief information officer. Under his new title, he will be responsible for leading Bridgestone's IT function, including making enhancements to its IT organization and overseeing strategy and implementation, the tire maker said.
A 19-year veteran with the company, Mr. Walsh has served in a number of financial leadership positions with Bridgestone, including general manager, group finance for Bridgestone Europe N.V./S.A. in Brussels, Belgium.
Replacing Mr. Walsh as corporate controller is Mr. Thompson, west zone manager for Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. Mr. Thompson joined the company in 1996 and has held several financial positions in Bridgestone's retail, manufacturing and commercial tire groups.
Mr. Lindsey is being promoted to the position of vice president, information technology. He joined the company nearly 14 years ago as a network system administrator and also has served as director of information technology for Bridgestone's building products and industrial products businesses.
