AKRON (June 6, 2012) — David Rohweder, global chief engineer, tire and wheel engineering for Ford Motor Co., will be a keynote speaker at this year's International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) in Cleveland, Sept. 18-20.
In his speech, “Stretching the Limits of Mobility, Will the Spare Tire Ever be Eliminated?” Mr. Rohweder will discuss the intersection of tire innovations and consumer perception for extended mobility. He also will explore challenges and potential opportunities for the tire industry.
His speech will take place Thursday, Sept. 20, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the IX Center adjacent to Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
Mr. Rohweder's responsibilities at Ford include oversight of all tire and wheel engineering activities worldwide, including the development of global standards, analysis methods and product strategic plans to support the auto maker's business plans. He has worked at Ford for more than 20 years on vehicles ranging from the compact Fiesta up to heavy trucks. He has extensive experience in chassis engineering, CAE, testing and vehicle development.
