TOKYO (April 25, 2012) — Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is participating in Auto China 2012, which began April 23 and runs through May 2 in Beijing.
The company said it planned to emphasize at the auto show its new slogan used in China, “Drive Transformation,” as well as its reputation as an environmentally conscious and responsible company in an effort to improve recognition of the various Yokohama brands.
Under the slogan, Yokohama said it sees change in the environment and lifestyles as a result of rapid economic growth in China as “evolution.”
On the environmental front, Yokohama said it will display for the first time in China its fuel-efficient compact car tire BluEarth AE-01, which will be released in that country in July, and for urban crossover vehicles its GEOLANDAR SUV tires that claim improved fuel efficiency.
To convey the high level of performance of its global flagship Advan brand, the tire maker is exhibiting Advan racing tires used in the China Touring Car Championship, for which Yokohama supplies control tires, along with a tuned-up demonstration car in Advan colors. The company also has on display at its booth tires for trucks and buses.
Internationally prestigious auto shows are held in China every year, alternately in Beijing and Shanghai, according to Yokohama. The 2010 show in Beijing drew some 2,100 auto-related manufacturers from 16 countries and regions, and a record 785,600 visitors.
