CYPRESS, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2012) — Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc.'s Motivo all-season, ultra-high-performance tire, which it unveiled during the 2011 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas, is now available to dealers.
The W- and Y-speed-rated Motivo has launched in 50 sizes with 17- to 20-inch rim diameter, Nitto said, and is backed by a 60,000-mile limited treadwear warranty. The company claimed the warranty is the highest in the industry for W- and Y-speed-rated UHP tires.
The Motivo carries a UTQG rating of 560 A A, Nitto said, and is manufactured using a silica-reinforced compound.
Features of the tire include a non-directional tread pattern with large tread blocks for enhanced cornering and a continuous center rib for improved high-speed stability. Its four circumferential grooves and open lateral slits aid water evacuation, while “3D Multi-Wave” sipes and fin sipes help to provide additional traction in winter conditions, the Cypress-based tire maker said.
All Motivo tires will be manufactured at the Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing Inc. automated car and light truck tire plant in White, Ga., which has a production capacity of more than 2 million tires per year. Production levels at the plan are expected to reach up to 6 million annually.
