BETHESDA, Md. — The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) has elected new officers and a board of governors at the group's recent annual business and education conference in Las Vegas.
The AWDA, a unit of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), said Bill Maggs of the National Pronto Association will serve as chairman, succeeding David T. Segal, Automotive Supply Associates, who will remain on the group's board as immediate past chairman. Other new officers include Tim Trudnowski, Automotive Jobbers Supply, as vice chair, and Dick Fairbanks, Orleans Auto Parts, as secretary. Richard Beirne, United Auto Supply, will continue as treasurer.
New members of the AWDA board of governors include:
- Sid Dooley, Associate Jobbers Warehouse;
- Eli Futerman, Hahn Automotive Warehouse;
- Tim Gerrity, General Auto Parts;
- Larry Pacey, National Auto Parts Warehouse;
- Larry Pavey, Federated Auto Parts Warehouse;
- Scott Peterson, ASAP Automotive Warehouse; and
- Tim Renehan, Stone Wheel Inc.
“These new officers join a long and distinguished line of great leaders that have progressed through the AWDA chairs,” said Larry Northup, AWDA executive director. “Their commitment to the industry is inspiring and it's truly an honor to work with them.
“Likewise, AWDA's nominating committee insists that any incoming governor be qualified to serve as chairman, if asked. The result of this long-standing policy is a consistent supply of high-quality board members who are interested, engaged and committed to the industry and association.”
The association said its new officers and governors will be closely involved in the AWDA's development of best practices for processing labor claims and promotion of the aftermarket distribution sector as a great place to build a career.
The AWDA, founded in 1947, represents more than 600 distributors and manufacturers of motor vehicle parts nationwide. The organization joined forces with Bethesda-based AAIA in 2004.
