TOKYO (April 27, 2011) — Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. (YRC) has promoted 42-year company veteran Tadanobu Nagumo to chairman and CEO and named Hikomitsu Noji, president of the tire business, to replace him as president.
Messrs. Nagumo, 64, and Noji, 52, also retain their positions as representative directors on the company's board, and Mr. Noji continues as president of the tire group, YRC said.
Mr. Nagumo joined YRC in 1969 as an engineer and advanced through the ranks as plant manager in Japan and The Philippines before a series of positions in tire production and planning. He was named president of the tire group in 2003 and president of YRC in 2004.
Mr. Noji joined YRC in 1982 as an engineer and moved into plant management in 2002 before being named a corporate officer and deputy general manager of tire production in 2008. He was named pesident of the tire group and general manager of tire global production in June 2010.
