RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (April 13, 2011) — Taking another step in its sports marketing blitz, Kumho Tire USA Inc. rolled out the red carpet and awarded its “most driven” fan with an all-expenses paid VIP fan experience.
The tire maker, which sponsors the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat NBA basketball teams, presented “VIP Fan Getaway” contest winner Jude Rosilien, a senior at Florida State University, with the opportunity to either travel to Los Angeles to watch the world champion LA Lakers or stay in-state to attend a Heat game.
Jude and three friends decided to take a break from the books in Tallahassee and travel to LA April 2 to watch the Lakers take on the Denver Nuggets from Kumho's luxury suite at the Staples Center.
Kumho representatives met Jude and friends at LAX with a white, stretch limo to escort them to the JW Marriott hotel at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles, where they were treated to a dinner at a high-end restaurant then given a tour of the area. Their trip also included shopping in Santa Monica with some spending money provided by Rancho Cucamonga-based Kumho.
“Kumho Tire was happy to have Jude and his friends join us for an exciting Lakers game at Staples,” said Rick Brennan, Kumho's vice president of marketing. “Watching the high performance level of play by the Lakers and witnessing the passion and enthusiasm demonstrated by Jude and his friends embodies our high performance sports marketing platform.”
