GREENVILLE, S.C. (Feb. 17, 2011) — Due to the continuing rise in raw material costs, Michelin North America Inc. plans to increase prices on commercial truck and motorcycle tires.
The company said price hikes will affect the following tire lines:
- Commercial truck tire and retread prices will rise by an average of 12 percent, effective March 1, on Michelin- and BFGoodrich-brand tires, as well as Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) and Oliver retread products sold in the U.S.
- Motorcycle tire prices will increase up to 8 percent, effective April 1, on Michelin-brand replacement motorcycle tires sold in Canada, Mexico and the U.S.
Earlier, Michelin increased prices on earthmover and industrial replacement tires by 7 percent, effective Feb. 1, in North America, and by the same percentage on Oliver and Mega-Mile retread products, effective Jan. 3.
