INGOLSTADT, Germany (Jan. 4, 2010) — German car maker Audi A.G. has begun fitting its A7 Sportback, a luxury four-door hatchback coupe, with 20-inch Advan Sport tires from Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. as original equipment.
The new fitment—size 265/35R20 99Y XL (extra load)—is Yokohama's fourth OE contract with Audi. The others are on the S6 and S8 sedans and Q7 SUV, Yokohama said.
The Audi A7 Sportback—described as combining the “sporty elegance of a coupe, the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon”—was launched in Europe last fall and is being introduced in other markets this year. Audi expects to sell about 200,000 units annually of the luxury coupe worldwide.
Audi offers three variants of a V-6 engine for the all-wheel-drive A7: two gasoline and one diesel generating between 204 and 300 hp.
The tires supplied to Audi are marked “AO” for Audi Original, Yokohama said.
Press materials from Audi show tire fitments for the A7 ranging from 18- to 20-inch rim diameters.
