MEMPHIS (Nov. 24, 2010) — K&M Tire Co. of Delphos, Ohio, is joining American Car Care Centers Inc. (ACCC) as a member-distributor for ACCC's new EcoExpress Tire Centers retail program for Indiana, Michigan and parts of Ohio starting Dec. 1.
"We are…looking forward to presenting the EcoExpress program to our customers." said K&M Tire President Ken Langhals.
“Adding value to our dealers' businesses and making a difference in our community are among K&M´s core objectives…,” he said. “We feel that this partnership, and this exciting new retail program, will allow us to reach new heights where both of these objectives are concerned.”
ACCC President and CEO Len Lewin said adding the first member-distributor specifically focused on the recently launched EcoExpress is a big step for the brand.
“K&M Tire has a true enthusiasm for the EcoExpress brand concept,” he said. “We are confident that we have chosen a solid partner with whom to take this important step.”
ACCC launched the EcoExpress program this past summer as an eco-based alternative to its existing ACCC network in order to expand into new markets without encroaching on the territory of established dealers.
The new program is similar in many ways to the company's ACCC brand when it comes to turnkey programs, but incorporates a number of environmentally oriented business practices — such as the “GreenLink Shop +” certification through the Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair — to set it apart.
K&M Tire services dealers in 14 states stretching from Ohio to North Dakota from 11 distribution centers in nine states. It doubled the size of its territory recently by taking over five Triton Tire centers from Universal Cooperatives Inc.
