BOWIE, Md. (Nov. 15, 2010) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has sent a brief message to the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB), reiterating its “complete, ongoing support” for TRIB's board, staff and members.
“We know that this has been a time of great change within TRIB, but we are confident that the recent decisions made by the TRIB board of directors were reached through a careful, deliberative process and will result in TRIB being an even stronger, healthier organization that is well-poised to take on the challenges facing the retreading industry,” said the short Nov. 15 letter signed by Roy Littlefield, TIA executive vice president.
TRIB President Mike Berra Jr., who also became TIA president earlier this month, dismissed longtime TRIB Managing Director Harvey Brodsky Oct. 5 with the agreement of members of TRIB's board.
David Stevens has since been named the successor to Mr. Brodsky, who meanwhile has announced formation of his own group, the Retread Tire Association.
