LAS VEGAS, (Nov. 2, 2010) — ALLDATA L.L.C. has released the ALLDATA Repair S3000, its next-generation information product.
The ALLDATA Repair S3000 introduces several new features aimed at improving efficiencies and performance, including searching ALLDATA's database of repair information for any phrase relative to a specific vehicle. The results yield a much greater amount of relevant information than previous versions of the software, according to ALLDATA.
The S3000's search function will return all appropriate information, including technical service bulletins (TSBs), component locations, diagnostic articles and more, ALLDATA said. Searches also can be filtered by information type.
“The automobile has changed drastically over the past several years, resulting in a far more complex vehicle,” said Ben Johnson, ALLDATA senior product marketing manager. “With sophisticated electronic and interdependent systems, there is, naturally, a greater need for more advanced repair information.”
Mr. Johnson added that because “ALLDATA adds more than a million pages of data per year to its databases, there is an increased need for faster search capabilities and simplicity in navigation.”
The new product's search feature offers users an alternative to conventional table-of-contents-style navigation, he said.
Another new feature of ALLDATA Repair S3000 allows multiple articles to display simultaneously.
“To work effectively, multiple articles may be used during a diagnostic or repair procedure,” Mr. Johnson said. “Take diagnostic trouble codes, for example. It is not unusual to need the actual diagnostic article, associated TSBs, wiring diagrams, component locations and other relevant articles. The advanced features in ALLDATA Repair S3000 will allow the user to quickly locate information, then pin the articles they need and arrange them on their desktop for greatest efficiency.”
