BRUSSELS (Sept. 21, 2010) — Bridgestone Corp. is restructuring its European organization to provide a more efficient and professional service to its customers.
In the new organization, to take effect Jan. 1, Bridgestone Europe will divide responsibility for sales functions into six geographical regions with their own regional headquarters. The European headquarters in Brussels will continue to have overall European control, although it also will be reorganized to provide better operational support to the regional sales companies in specialized areas.
Bridgestone did not disclose the makeup of the six regions.
“This new structure will enable faster decision making, closer to the market,” Bridgestone said. “This will increase both service and efficiency and should bring greater benefits to our customers”
Bridgestone Europe CEO Mac Ohashi commented: “The European company has grown both organically and geographically in the 20 years since it was established. The time has come to restructure ourselves to ensure that we can meet the needs of the market today and in the future.”
