AKRON (Sept. 2, 2010) — Micro-Poise Measurement Systems L.L.C., a maker of precision test and measurement equipment for the tire and automotive industries, has acquired the assets of Collmann Tire Systems & Services G.m.b.H., a Lubeck, Germany-based maker of tire and retread X-ray machines and related equipment.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The renamed Collman G.m.b.H. will operate as a division of Akron-based Micro-Poise.
Collmann's lines of uniformity, dynamic balance and geometry systems will complement Micro-Poise's product portfolio, the firms said.
The key new product now offered by Micro-Poise is the Collmann VerTiX line of high-precision tire X-ray equipment, the firm said, covering tires in rim diameters from 12 to 63 inches.
VerTiX offers a proprietary automatic data recognition software system that can be added to the Micro-Poise modular tire measurement systems, which optimize the tire measurement process for uniformity and dynamic balance measures, providing one package to final finish, the firm said.
Collman also makes a line of retread buffing equipment covering tires up to 63 inches in rim diameter.
