GREENVILLE, S.C. (Aug. 4, 2010) — Guy Pekle recently was named president and CEO of Michelin North America Inc.'s Tire Centers L.L.C. (TCI) subsidiary, replacing Joe Finney.
A Michelin spokeswoman said Mr. Finney—who spent 16 years at ServiceMaster Co. before coming to TCI in 2005—“left to pursue another opportunity.”
Mr. Pekle, who took over TCI's helm in May, joined Clermont-Ferrand, France-based Group Michelin in October 1986. Since March 2006, he served as vice president of commercial sales for Michelin North America's Michelin Americas Truck Tires division. Prior to that he served as president of Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. and also president of Michelin Retread Technologies (Canada) Inc.
Michelin said that during his career with the tire maker, Mr. Pekle also has served as director of commercial business for the company's Canadian unit and Michelin account executive for Volvo and Renault Trucks (Europe). Before assuming his truck tire responsibilities, he worked in Group Michelin's recruiting department.
Mr Pekle received his bachelor's degree from the Institute University of Technology in Montpellier, France, and an executive master's degree in business administration from Emory Goizueta Business School in Atlanta.
