Albert P. Penter, 72, owner of American Manufacturing & Equipment Corp., which does business as Cincinnati Retread/Reclamation Systems (CRS), died June 1.
In 1978, Mr. Penter purchased the companywhich makes tire buffers, mulchers, expandable rims and hubs and other equipmentand took it to a higher level with new products, ingenuity and hard work, wrote Todd Hunsche, president of the company's machinery division, in a recent letter to the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB).
His 'can do' positive attitude was part of his trademark, Mr. Hunsche said. Al believed in treating customers with respect, honesty and integrity, which resulted in many satisfied and repeat customers.
Mr. Penter is survived by his wife Carol; son Albert N. Penter; daughters Pamela Hunsche, Laura Weigand and Julia Minnier; sister Kathy Carrigan; and several grandchildren.
