MINERVA, Ohio (May 14, 2010) — The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has ordered property owners in Minerva, Columbiana County, to remove 4,000 scrap tires from a dump in West Township.
The property owners, Steven and Kathy Hein, were given until Aug. 31 to remove and properly dispose of the tires. Until removal, the Heins were ordered to reduce the size of the tire piles, establish fire lanes and spray for mosquitoes, the state said.
