FORT SMITH, Ark. (April 5, 2010) — Goodyear's Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems L.L.C. subsidiary will rebrand 31 on-highway Pilot Truck Care Centers as Wingfoot Truck Care Centers in the coming weeks and add 10 on-highway centers before year-end.
The 31 locations are truck-stop-sited service centers Wingfoot operates for Pilot Travel Centers L.L.C. under an agreement signed in 2005.
“By unifying the planned new locations with the existing network under our Wingfoot Truck Care Center banner, we're bringing to customers the same services they've come to expect from Wingfoot,” said Mark Totten, Wingfoot's vice president of marketing.
All locations under the Wingfoot brand umbrella are part of Goodyear's fleetHQ servicing network, which offers programs for participating owner-operators and fleets to purchase tires, retreads and service on the road at the same price as they negotiated with their local Wingfoot location.
“This is a tremendous program that helps our customers who have a tire issue on the road,” Mr. Totten said. “By calling fleetHQ, our customer's location is immediately mapped, and a local fleetHQ location will respond to the call.”
Pilot Truck Care Centers offer Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly tires, Tire Industry Association-trained and Automotive Service Excellence-certified technicians and services, such as air conditioning checks/repairs, driveline and suspension inspections, and brake and air system repair.
Wingfoot did not disclose where the new truck care centers will be located. Wingfoot also operates 150 traditional commercial vehicle service centers throughout the U.S.
