DAVIDSON, N.C. (March 17, 2010) — Tool maker Ingersoll Rand Co. has received the 2009 Frost & Sullivan U.S. Automotive Technician's Choice Award for the second consecutive year.
The company got the award based on an independent survey conducted by research firm Frost & Sullivan that found Ingersoll Rand air compressors were preferred as the overall best brand by a margin of two to one.
According to the survey, 38 percent of the U.S. automotive technicians surveyed listed Ingersoll Rand as one of the top three overall best brands in the air compressor category, and 25 percent ranked Ingersoll Rand as No. 1—placing the company's compressors well above their closest competitors.
The survey was conducted in November and December 2009 via phone interviews with 400 automotive techs throughout the U.S. Respondents worked in large and small operations, including both independent and franchise repair shops and dealerships, according to Ingersoll Rand.
“Ingersoll Rand has a strong legacy in compressed air technology, and we are very proud to accept this award,” said Kevin Stamets, the firm's business manager. “We strive to provide our customers with best-in-class tools and equipment, and being recognized by Frost & Sullivan two years in a row tells us that our hard work is paying off.”
Frost & Sullivan's Best Practice Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development.
