RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (March 15, 2010) — Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. is increasing its marketing efforts on major social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as part of efforts to reach current and future enthusiasts.
The company, the U.S. distribution arm of South Korea's Kumho Tire Co., has launched a “Kumho Tire” fan page on Facebook to provide updates on upcoming new products, Kumho's motorsports activities and race drivers, and exclusive access to contests and giveaways. To leverage YouTube's popularity, the Rancho Cucamonga-based tire marketer said it is posting videos featuring Kumho's family of high performance tires, the “Kumho Girls,” and The Off Road Championship (TORC) Racing Series drivers sponsored by Kumho, including Ricky and Luke Johnson, as well as other videos in coming months.
“Many of our loyal fans are already active users of Facebook and other social media sites so it was just a natural extension for Kumho to join and be a member of this thriving community” said Rick Brennan, Kumho's vice president of marketing. “Our goal is to reach valued consumers that are passionate about Kumho Tire, about cars and motorsports and about life and show them how Kumho fits their lifestyle.”
Mr. Brennan added that by focusing the company's efforts on the Web and online video, “we are in essence reaching our loyal enthusiasts on a more personal and relevant manner and inspiring our fans to spread the word about Kumho Tire.”
